Welcome to our Internet Audience. It is my privilege and
honor to greet you one and all in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
You are indeed “Welcome” to visit our Internet website. It is my hope and
prayer that this site will be an encouragement and blessing to you and that you
will visit it often. It has been just over 100 years that The Church of God
arose out of darkness and fulfilled the scripture found in Isaiah 60:1, “Arise,
shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.”
The Church of God had been obscured through heresy, apostasy and delusions of
men until prophecy’s time had come. Bishop A. J. Tomlinson on June 13, 1903
climbed to the top of “Burger Mountain” in western North Carolina to once again
discover the truths concerning The Church of God. He did not start “the
church”, he simply was a servant of God, used to uncover the truths that had
been obscured for almost 1600 years. The truths which were revealed clearly
show that “this church” was the continuation of “the church” that Jesus Himself
set in order and established on the Horns of Hattin or Kurn Hattin
approximately 27 A.D. some five miles west of the Sea of Galilee. These meager
beginnings were recognized only by a handful, but be assured, Heaven is aware
of what took place on this historic day and still is very much concerned about
the present and future existence of His Church. We embrace the doctrine of
holiness as a way of life and it is our desire to allow the New Testament to be
our only rule of faith and practice. We accept the entire Word of God as being
infallible, God breathed and inerrant. It is this commitment to the Word of God
with the immediate direction and leadership of the Holy Ghost upon us that this
last days Church of God continues as His Church. There is still much work to be
done in fulfilling the great commission to take the whole message to the entire
world. We will do it by the help and grace of God and by the divine guidance of
the Holy Ghost. As the General Overseer of The Church of God, I invite you to
visit one of our churches in your area, or contact any of our
state/Regional/National Offices, where I am sure you will find a heartfelt warm
welcome and greeting to The Church of God. My prayer is that God will bless and
keep you.
